I was extremely proud of our players today. We didn't get the team win but every one of them had positives that they can take from their matches. Levi was down early and made a solid comeback attempt that just fell short. He was moving and playing with effort that was great to see. Maguire had his best match of the year and I couldn't be more proud as a coach with his consistency on his groundstrokes that made the difference in the end. Nolan was fantastic against his opponent and beat him handily. His first and second serves were the best I've seen out of him all year; I wish I could count it as a win but he's working hard where it matters (in the classroom) to make his matches count later on the court. Landon also played his best match of the year and had long rallies and solid first serves at many points in his match. Dylan did his best but was quite literally hobbled with a very sore heel that negatively affected his performance. Great job giving it a go! Nation hustled on every play I watched from him and tracked down some shots that a week ago he wasn't getting. Glad to see his improvement. I give my final props to Dylan/Nation's doubles performance as they were down early, tired from their singles matches, but came back against a fresh Brophy doubles team that was fully rested from not playing singles. Overall, this was the most fun I've had with these players and loved their hard work and effort out there!
