The top 6 eligible players will officially compete against other schools for the team win/loss record. If we do not have enough eligible players we will participate with the players available but officially forfeit singles or doubles matches where we can't provide required spots.

If the other schools have more than 6 competitors then our other players ranked outside of the top 6 will have an opportunity to play an exhibition match, provided they are eligible.

End of Season Comments

Hi parents. The season is officially over but I wanted to thank you all for the support you gave to your players in coming to practices and matches or sending food for the players on our away matches. I believe they all had a great time this season and I know that every one of them improved from beginning to end!

This was a season that could've turned a different corner had we not gotten bit by the Three "I"s: Injury, Illness or Ineligibility; I wasn't able to play our top 6 players for a single match this year against other schools because of one of those three "I"s! (Such is life, so goes tennis, right?) But it was great to see players rise to the challenge of playing out of position and doing their best in the matches they got an opportunity to play in. We had a solid team for Freshman Boys Tennis and if these players work hard and keep practicing, they'll do well in the JV/Varsity season this spring.

I have a couple awards I will make sure I get to two of the players (MVP and Most Improved Player that I'll add here once I notify the recipients) and we may do one final "practice" on a Saturday morning to give the #1 and #2 players a chance to earn two restaurant gift cards if they can "Defeat the Coach."

This was a fantastic experience coaching your boys in tennis, getting to know your players, and watching them work hard and have fun out there! I plan to attend a few JV/Varsity home tennis matches in the Spring and I would love to see these players in those future matches!

Good luck to the boys and thank you again for your support this season!

Coach's Challenge

At the end of the year, at the last practice, I will give the 1 and 2 ranked players an option to "Defeat the Coach!" in a 12-point tiebreak (Two against One). If they win, I will award them each a $25 gift card to a restaurant of their choice
