Hamilton is a solid team from top to bottom and it showed during their play today. But, despite the scores, there were good things to see from every player. I particularly wanted to call out Maguire's performance as he lost to the same player from Hamilton 8-5 in September but played a fantastic rematch and won 8-3. Huge improvement from him so far from the beginning of the season. That was great to see! Levi had a rougher time this go-around but he was serving solidly at times that he can build off of. Peyton made his season debut and I was thrilled with his effort on the court. Being away from the courts for weeks due to injury undoubtedly had an effect on shots that he used to make, but he should feel encouraged as his hustle was just what I wanted to see out of him. He'll get his groundstrokes back sooner than you know. Danny also made his season debut and played hard against a good Hamilton player and made the guy sweat a bit at the end as he mounted a comeback that fell a little short. Definitely something to build on. We can't discount the fact that even though Nolan and Nation were going against the 5th and 6th seeds that they'd have an easier opponent. As mentioned before, Hamilton is solid from top to bottom and every match was going to be a battle. Dylan and Landon found the courts in doubles but their opponents were strong with their groundstrokes and serves that were difficult for our guys to contend with. I feel like we're very close to making these competitions closer than the scores are showing but I know the boys are working very hard on the practice courts and if they keep at it, we're going to see some close victories pulled out in the near-future.
