Our last home match of the year and the players together almost pulled off a fantastic team win. Still, there were some great individual performances from Maguire, Peyton (his first win of the year coming back from injury!) and Landon. Maguire continues his ascent when rematching players from earlier in the year and either winning on the rematch or doing even better the second time around. Peyton played a solid Brophy player with a tricky spin-serve that had him off-balance at times but he was hustling out there and not giving up any points up for free. He had to adjust on the fly with his second serve to prevent his opponent from teeing-off. Great job in persistence and consistency to win that match in a tiebreak! Landen also played a strong opponent, and just like last time in Phoenix against Brophy, he went the distance but came out ahead in the tiebreak. He had great effort out there and started playing more aggressively when needed when he found himself losing points by not going for it more. And our last match that went to a tiebreak (Marshall) he just missed the victory but I'm confident he'll have some ideas on how to finish the match in the future as he had a commanding lead before his opponent came roaring back. Good try Marshall! You've got a great chance tomorrow to get at it again in our final match of the year! Nation had some great serves again in his match today and was hanging tough in the early rounds. And great job to our doubles teams that were all playing as hard as they could. Landon and Marshall played fantastic in their doubles as they had to react fast to some high-velocity shots at close-range from Brophy. Peyton and Maguire also did very well with quick hands against the 1 and 2 ranked players with Brophy. Not the team ending we wanted, but once again, I'm very proud of how hard our players competed out there today!
