Round of 16
What a fun experience for our players that had an opportunity to play today! I am extremely proud of all of them and they should all take positives from this experience:
Karson had a very tough draw to begin the tournament but he was on with his serve, chasing down everything he could, and left the tournament with a driving motivation to get better in the off-season. Great job out there Karson and see you in Boys Freshman tennis next year!
Kyler replayed an opponent from earlier in the year and you could see he had made strides from the previous match. His form looked really good, he was quick on his feet, and he kept his head in the match. While the result wasn't what he battled for, he improved against this player and he also has a strong desire to get better for next year. See you in Boys Freshman tennis!
Elwood did great against the Willis #1 Varsity player in the first round and his hustle out there and tracking down balls without waiting for them to go out was a sign of his ability and his preparation to take the next step in competitions. He ended up having to play the eventual champion in the 2nd round but it was great for him to see where he is, where he wants to go, and what he needs to do to get there. See you in Boys Freshman tennis next year!
Adalyn almost pulled off an incredible match and upset against the Bogle #5 Varsity player. This was Adalyn's first official singles match of the season and I couldn't be more proud of how hard she played on the court. I'm very excited to see she loves tennis and is ready to compete in the offseason and get better for next year. See you next season!
Avonlea also played her first official singles match of the season and she did great for this step-up in competition. I was happy to see how much she has improved from the start of the season and it was most evident on her serve. It was so much fun coaching you this year and I look forward to hearing how you do next year in Girls Freshman tennis!
