Footwork, footwork, footwork! We are going to work on footwork for every practice to the end of the season! There were many fun matches today and a shout-out to Aubrey getting her first win of the season but there were too many players that looked like they were moving in concrete out there, lol. That will be a point of emphasis as I saw lots of points lost on slow reaction times. Despite that though, players again worked hard out there and the slow footwork was contrasted with bursts of effort from every player on the court. I know a few players are better than their scores showed and they know it, too; I took their thoughts after the game and we'll work as much as we can on the areas they feel they need the most work on. It's great to hear that as a coach as it shows these players are desirous to improve their tennis skills and play more competitively in future matches. And the next match is coming up fast...
